My country tis of thee

What is it now?

Twenty years after that event

That could have united generations

Differences are not embraced

Cancel, what a culture!

Millions of us do not vote

Thousands of us might not have the chance

We take solace from a Book many never read

But we are a people of faith, you know

Life is cherished at the beginning

Then ignored

A lionhearted left, a resolute right

Comfortable in camps

With rigid orthodoxies

But open minded, bless their hearts

Blame them over there

No, blame them over there

The echo chamber

Silences all independent thought

My country tis of thee

Uncover its soul, where?

Two decades of fighting

What, and for what?
