That September Day

Moretti's Musings

Right there is where it happened

I will always remember

But the families can never forget

That September day

So much lost

Many crosses borne

At the center of the world

On that September day

I stare down from a window

Memories pinball in my brain

Images of dust, debris and noise

From that September day

You sense it in the light

But feel it in the dark

That uneasy sense of dread

Knowing that September day
