President Obama turns 60 this year. And to celebrate, his family has invited almost 500 people to an outdoor party. Health officials are fuming.
Read this story from the Washington Post and then decide if the critics are right.
A person familiar with the matter told The Washington Post that all of Obama’s guests will have to provide a negative result of a coronavirus test taken in a window specified by a coronavirus coordinator to ensure that safety protocols are followed.
I’m disappointed in the former president because he could make an important statement — regardless of how many people choose to listen — about not intentionally putting people in harm’s way. Now, I say that knowing my wife and younger son are planning to attend a concert later this week where (as of now) no masking is required. While they will choose to wear one, I doubt the thousands of people around them will.
My two cents.
