The little lady

The little lady next door

She’s “more perfecter” every day

Yes, I love her a whole lot

But that’s not all that I can say

I’m not the greatest poet

A “rank” amateur? That’s a yup!

But when the little lady smiles

My heart gets all filled up

Her eyes look here and then there

She wants to touch this and then that

Oh, look, a colorful flower

She can grab it or go pat pat

I see the awesome wonder

In her mother’s and father’s eyes

Whatever she will do next

Will be a great surprise

Rest now, little lady

It’s time to shut the light

Sweet dreams, sweetheart

God will watch over you all night
