What if I told you a country with a variant of the coronavirus raging in its borders was considered currently the best at handling the pandemic. Well, Bloomberg is.
CGTN picks up the details.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian on Monday questioned Bloomberg’s ranking of economies’ fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, saying it doesn’t respect facts, science or lives.
Zhao made the remarks in response to the Covid Resilience Ranking published monthly by Bloomberg, which scores the largest 53 economies on their tackling of the COVID-19 pandemic “with the least amount of social and economic disruption.”
The U.S., with over 10,000 new confirmed cases daily, was rated as the best performer while the Chinese mainland ranked eighth in the latest ranking, published on June 28.
Of course, we shouldn’t be surprised that any Western news agency would spin a negative yarn about China. We know the “bad” China narrative is baked in. More importantly, in this situation, evaluate the data that were used to come up with this conclusion. Does it pass the reasonable test?
Exactly.
