Highways from sea to shining sea Won’t close Bombers from coast to coast Won’t fly overhead Pockmarked buildings Won’t be seen Innocent people Won’t die Enveloped in peace and tranquility War? It’s fought somewhere else
Day: January 7, 2020
War
Let us go to war.
Over there.
Let us rally around the flag.
Over here.
Let the mothers and fathers cry.
Over there.
Let us pray for ours sons and daughters.
Over here.
Let us place blame.
Over there.
Let us be loyal, supportive citizens.
Over here.
Let the horrors of war be seen.
Over there.
Let no sign of trouble be seen.
Over here.
Let us take the fight to them.
Over there.
Let there be peace on Earth.
Over here.
Blue
